“ What a JOY to know you – what a JOY that you were born to us!”

~ blessings for the year ahead to all of our August Babies!

So – As we celebrate our FAMILY this coming month with 6 Birthdays in August we look back to the last month of events and CELEBRATE the past month as well!

Our live-in niece Amy is a GRADUATE! She completed an early grad program through Florida Tech and received her passing documents a few weeks ago. We held a small “walking” ceremony for her at Casa Marina www.casamarinahotel.com and she will have a formal ceremony at the Tech School in January of 2010. Many thanks to LehAna and Jami Childers for making her ceremony extra special. It was nice that she could have sis & bro with her here for it and we We congratulate Amy for all of her hard work…..even MATH!

With the support of our friends here – especially my constant for a laugh and a calming solution, Marina Vita….we can accomplish not just what we hope for, but even MORE!

Line Dancing for the summer seems to be a great new theme and our first night at it was a wonderful success at PVPC church!

www.pvpc.com Join us for lessons again (beginners to advanced dancers welcome!) Saturday August 1 and again on Saturday September 12 at PVPC church on Palm Valley Road. 6-8pm / no dinner, but drinks are available at $1each. Nephew Andrew/Chauncey was a fabulous addition to our dance crew and will be DJ for the August class!

Kurt had the opportunity for some wonderful new performance venues by joining the Hackers for monthly performances of the National Anthem in Daytona www.hackersband.com and the CD release of “PawnShop” by Grant Peeples new project in Tallahassee – check it out at: www.grantpeeples.com

Kurt also had a short trip to PA to continue work at Sweetcreek Studios on U Asked 4 It Too. Thanks to the PA support of Sue and Dave baker and the “system” that we cant do without: www.sweetcreekstudios.com and www.cdbaker.com . We are so grateful that we can continue to count on you guys for last minute changes and all of your flexibility. You are the best!

It gave Kurt a chance to visit with his Mom/Chick to celebrate her 80 th Birthday this year!Spending the day with nieces Sarah and Becca was definitely the HILIGHT of this PA trip ~ and he brought back niece/granddaughter Emily back to Florida for the remainder of the summer …..what a BONUS!

The month wound down with successful nights celebrating the music of the JDuo along with our friends from The Hackers Band and Kurts buegrass work with The Driftwoods/Gatorbone Band.

A celebration of Driftwood/Eric Searcy’s 60 th Birthday was ONLY surpassed by the arrival of our new GATORBONE baby to Gabe and Liana Valla. Welcome to the world little Rowan --- even though it was a long haul to get here, you are WELL worth the wait! Please keep Liana’s recovery/healing and our new little ones precious new life in all of your prayers for the upcoming months. What very SPECIAL people we are blessed to share our lives with!

Nephew Andrew attended his first concert with an invitation from sister Amy to join us for her Bday trip to see Rascal Flatts at Jax Memorial Stadium along her friend/cousin Kalyn (KK) Kotlinski and of course the EVER cool – Aunt Deb.

Now --- onto a BIG reality check ~ We have looked at the work calendar and just discovered that Kurt will have worked 10+ weeks this summer without a day off. So for those who miss hearing from him personally ~ thanks for your patience through these very busy days. Its all good stuff so we are not “cutting” anything – we are just plowing through until he gets to his first days off later this month before doing another 4 weeks straight into September.

Its only this busy because of ALL of your continued support ` so think ahead to the upcoming months and help us plan a more reasonable schedule through the holidays. Think about your party and performance schedules so that we can block off some time to spend with our family and friends through the holiday season as well.

Mom/Peg continues to do well in her bypass surgery recovery, however she is not planning on any immediate traveling. She will send her BEST wishes up to all of our PA gang for upcoming August trip over the weekend of 21 st and 22 nd. If you plan to join us for the performances at Cactus Grill that weekend – please call and make reservations IMMEDIATELY at 215-766-9840.
