blessings for the year ahead to all of our February Babies!

WOW!!! What news to tell this month ~ We encourage you to read on and check out the posted websites for more information.

We spent the first part of 2009 with some of our FAV people!

We rang in the new year as we told you in Jan newsletter and then Kurt and I took our niece Amy and young friend Robert Kotlinski *Kurts PA (personal assistant/roadie) to Apalachicola on the Gulf Coast of Fla for the weekend. Kurt performed at the Dixie Theater with Lis & Lon Williamson for a wonderful concert of original artist, Grant Peeples - check him out at: www.grantpeeples.com

We enjoyed a fantastic house concert by Wil Maring and Robert Bowlin www.wilmaring.com at the home of two time Emmy winner - Jamie Defrates and his lovely partner Susan Brown www.jamiedefratesmusic.com What wonderful hosts they were to a completely enjoyable and new idea for Kurt and I. Mom and Amy came along to enjoy the concert as well and we all agree that we will be hosting some house concerts in our own home over 2009 for other local artists to perform. Keep your eyes posted for these upcoming events as there will be limited seating.

Amy obtained her Fla driving permit and is now the official chauffer to the Johnston/Woodbury family! Kurts Mom/Gloria “Chick” and oldest brother Wayne are in town since end of January. Amy is finding a new young adult relationship with both her Uncle and Mom-Mom who will be staying until Feb 8 th. We are all having a blast enjoying the opportunity to spend some time and to gig together again!

Remember that you can still catch Wayne performing w/the Duo at Casa Marina through the first week of Feb and for the Blues and Bluegrass United Benefit Concert on February 7 th at Marsh Landing FOP – details on the event page of the website.

Amy and I spend any downtime we have been able to find to compete in Wii games. What fun ~ and the physical activity feels GREAT! If you haven’t had the chance to try these new interactive video games – don’t miss the challenge…. all levels of skill and ability are possible and I can FINALLY learn how to play golf!!! Hahahahaha

It makes Kurt, Mom and I feel so good to see Amy thriving and celebrating life as a beautiful and bright young woman. She and I have joined the PVPC choir and we will all be performing together for services on February 15 th and March 15 th. Amy is also planning to start working in the PVPC nursery. She is excited to start a study program this month for her early graduate certification in the spring and already has job leads for several early childhood development working opportunities.

The highlight of our month had to be performing an exciting and inspiring set of Sunday services with Wayne as a special guest to the PVPC Praise Band the last weekend of January. His playing and participation was exceptional and reminded us over and over to thank our Heavenly Father for allowing us more time with Wayne after a few close calls of losing him over the last couple of years.

Keep each other as close as you can. When you are apart – appreciate the good times you have had together. The times you have shared laughter and music and warm memories. It matters to let the wrongful and negative past ideas go so that we can celebrate the day that is here and every moment of future we may have together. We are thankful to all of you for being such a special part of our lives now or in the past and we encourage you to keep sending emails to keep us updated on your own events when we are not able to have time together.

With love through the VALENTINES season ~ Debrann
